The essentials
Overview
Most of a manager’s week in Orbit happens on four screens. Knowing which one answers which question is most of the learning curve.
- Home — who is on today, who is late, what is waiting on you.
- Roster — the week ahead, and where you fix it when somebody drops out.
- Timesheets — the hours people actually worked, before they become pay.
- Approvals — leave, swaps and availability, all in one list.
Before you start
You need approval access for the store. Read the request details rather than relying on a summary count.
Step by step
Your day at a glance
Home shows who is on, who is late, and what is waiting on you. It is the one screen worth checking when you walk in.
This week’s roster
The roster is built a week at a time. Open yours and have a look at who is on.
Approve some hours
Orbit checks approved hours against the award before anything is paid — that is why approval comes first. Approve a day’s hours to see how it works.
Where requests land
Leave, shift swaps and availability changes all arrive in one place, so there is a single list to work through rather than four.
The rest lives in Learn
Rostering, timesheets and everything else have their own short guides. They are in Learn whenever you want one.
What to check
If you need more help
If an action is unavailable, check your permissions and whether someone else has already reviewed the item. Do not approve incorrect hours just to clear a list.
